Welcome to St. John’s Episcopal Church! We have been a vital part of Montgomery County since 1842. We welcome all persons who feel called to express their faith or who are on their own journey to find God in their life. We are committed to sharing the Good News of God in Christ Jesus, respecting the dignity of every human being, and loving our neighbor. We reach out with our Lord’s compassion and love to any and all who are hurting or are marginalized. Join us as we offer up the sacred worship of the Church, and begin to experience the rich layers of the Christian tradition that are shaped by our Anglican heritage. Join us as we form the hearts and minds of our children and adults so that they always see the face of God in everyone they meet. Come and share your unique gifts as we strive for justice and peace among all people, and proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ.
This year’s Advent Dinner features Lessons and Carols at 5pm in the sanctuary, followed by potluck dinner, carols and dessert in the Parish Hall. The potluck is a "no-stress potluck” - make something or buy something to contribute. St. John's will provide a Turkey, a Beef Stew, and a Vegetarian Pasta Dish, along with wine, soft drinks and festive mocktails.
CHILDREN'S ADVENT PARTY
Children are welcome and invited to Lessons and Carols at 5pm. The Children's dinner and party begins at 6pm, when children will be escorted to the gym for a dinner of Chicken Finger, Mac-n-Cheese and Fruit followed by games and advent activities.
A donation of $25 per family is suggested for the Children's Party to help offset the dinner cost and childcare.
We offer a quiet worship with Eucharist at 8am, and a 10:30am service filled with classic and modern music supported by our choir, piano and organ, and handbell ringers.
